Santa Fe Springs to Welcome the World at the 2027 Rose Parade® with “Bienvenidos a Nuestra Comunidad

Award-winning City returns with live performance by internationally acclaimed Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán and traditional folklórico dancers.
The City of Santa Fe Springs will return to Pasadena on January 1, 2027, with “Bienvenidos a Nuestra Comunidad,” a vibrant Rose Parade® entry celebrating Mexican culture through live mariachi music, traditional folklórico dance, floral artistry, and the welcoming spirit of community. Designed in response to the 2027 Rose Parade presented by Honda theme, “Welcome,” the Santa Fe Springs entry transforms a simple greeting into a cultural experience. “Bienvenidos,” meaning “Welcome,” will be prominently displayed on the float, inviting millions of parade spectators and viewers around the world to experience the music, traditions, color, and community spirit of Santa Fe Springs. At the heart of the float will stand an ornate traditional Mexican kiosco, reminiscent of the gathering places found in plazas throughout Mexico. Performing live from the kiosco will be internationally acclaimed Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, an ensemble with more than six decades of history and more than 100 recorded albums. Founded in Guadalajara in 1965, Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán has performed on stages around the world, including the Hollywood Bowl, Auditorio Nacional, Teatro Degollado, Festival Internacional Cervantino, and Viña del Mar International Song Festival. The ensemble has also collaborated with celebrated artists including Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández, Alejandro Sanz, Lila Downs, and others. Complementing the live mariachi performance, traditional folklórico dancers are proposed to accompany the float as outwalkers, filling Colorado Boulevard with movement and colorful traditional attire. Together, the musicians and dancers will create the feeling of a Mexican plaza celebration moving through the streets of Pasadena. The float itself carries that celebration from front to back. A dramatic folklórico dancer with her colorful skirt extended in motion welcomes spectators from the front of the float. The central kiosco serves as the musical heart of the entry, surrounded by abundant flowers, decorative patterns, a traditional piñata, and prominent “BIENVENIDOS” signage. At the rear, another folklórico dancer and an ornate gated courtyard surrounded by flowering foliage complete the scene. The cultural elements were intentionally selected to reflect traditions that have deep connections to Santa Fe Springs and Southern California. Through mariachi music, folklórico dance, traditional architecture, and floral artistry, the City will share an important part of its cultural identity while conveying a universal message of welcome, belonging, and community. A Community Riding Together The entry will bring together representatives from across the Santa Fe Springs community and beyond. Riding alongside the musicians will be Santa Fe Springs Mayor Joe Angel Zamora, Mayor Pro Tem Annette Rodriguez, Councilmembers Juanita Martin, John M. Mora and William K. Rounds, City Manager René Bobadilla, Assistant City Manager Nicholas Razo, and City Attorney Rick Olivarez. The City will also welcome elected representatives who serve Santa Fe Springs, including U.S. Representative Linda T. Sánchez, California State Senator Bob Archuleta, and California State Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco. Their participation alongside the musicians of Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán and traditional folklórico dancers reinforces the central message of the entry: people coming together through culture, music, tradition, and community. Continuing an Award-Winning Rose Parade Tradition Santa Fe Springs has a longstanding history with the Rose Parade dating to the 1960s, when City floats earned awards in every year from 1960 through 1969, culminating with the Grand Prize in 1969. After a 38-year absence, Santa Fe Springs returned to the parade in 2007 and received the Extraordinaire Trophy in 2008 for “A Celebration of Life – Día de los Muertos.” The City once again returned to Colorado Boulevard in 2026, earning the prestigious Queen Award for outstanding presentation and use of roses. Hundreds of community volunteers participated in decorating the float, continuing a tradition in which the Santa Fe Springs community plays an active role in bringing its Rose Parade entry to life.
With “Bienvenidos a Nuestra Comunidad,” the City will build upon that award-winning legacy in 2027 while presenting an entirely new experience—one driven by live music, movement, culture, and an invitation to the world to celebrate together. Bienvenidos a Nuestra Comunidad. Welcome to Our Community.
