Santa Fe Springs To ''Tackle Cancer'' At Relay For Life On September 26

— The Santa Fe Springs community is teaming up to "huddle up and tackle cancer" on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Little Lake Park for the gridiron-themed annual Relay For Life of Santa Fe Springs. Local residents, cancer survivors, caregivers, and volunteers will don their favorite jerseys, execute their best fundraising game plans, and rally together to raise critical funds for the American Cancer Society.
The game day schedule kicks off at 10:00 AM with a special Cancer Survivor Brunch to honor the community's MVP cancer survivors. The official Opening Ceremony begins at 11:00 AM, signaling the kickoff of the main event, which runs through 9:00 PM. Throughout the day, teams will take turns keeping a teammate on the track—representing the reality that cancer never sleeps—while enjoying football-themed tailgating games, community booths, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
"This year, our theme is all about teamwork, drive, and pushing past the goal line to defeat cancer once and for all," said Cindy Jarvis, Event Chair. "Every team that registers and every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society run the ultimate defense, funding groundbreaking research and providing critical, round-the-clock support for patients and their families."
The Relay For Life movement remains the world's largest peer-to-peer fundraising event dedicated to saving lives from cancer. Residents can join the roster by forming a team, drafting friends and family, registering as a survivor or caregiver, or making a direct donation to support the cause.
