Santa Fe Springs Rotary Partners with Not Just Tourists Orange County for “Project Suitcase” Donatio

The Santa Fe Springs Rotary Club is proud to partner with Not Just Tourists Orange County to host a meaningful community initiative, Project Suitcase, on Saturday, May 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Betty Wilson Center.
This special donation drive aims to collect gently used suitcases, with at least 2 wheels,  that will be repurposed to deliver critical medical supplies to underserved communities around the world. Through the efforts of Not Just Tourists Orange County, donated suitcases are filled with donated medical supplies and transported by travelers to areas in need, supporting clinics and healthcare providers with limited resources.
Community members are encouraged to donate clean, gently used suitcases of all sizes. These simple contributions can have a profound global impact—turning unused luggage into life-saving resources for communities lacking access to basic medical care.
“This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and make a difference beyond our borders,” said Karen Lomas, Santa Fe Springs Rotary President. “A suitcase donation may seem small, but it can carry hope, healing, and essential care to those who need it most.”
Donations will be accepted during event hours, and volunteers will be on-site to assist with drop-offs and provide more information about the mission and impact of Project Suitcase.
