Santa Fe Springs Chamber Celebrates Volunteer Leaders and Installs 2026-2027 Board of Directors
The Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce and Santa Fe Springs Chamber/League Youth Enrichment Fund hosted its Annual Board Installation and Volunteer Recognition Ceremony on June 11, 2026, bringing together business leaders, community partners, elected officials, volunteers, and members to celebrate
the individuals who help strengthen the Santa Fe Springs business community.
The evening began with welcoming remarks from CEO Leah Skinner, who recognized the Chamber's dedicated staff, volunteers, and leadership. She acknowledged Chamber President Scott Summerfield for his exceptional leadership and commitment during a pivotal year for the organization. Skinner introduced Programs Manager Marie Laveaga and offered special appreciation to former staff members Kathie and Sue for returning to support the organization during a period of transition.
Throughout the evening, the Chamber honored the many volunteers who contribute their time and expertise to advancing the Chamber's mission. Special recognition was given to the Chamber Ambassadors, whose efforts support member recruitment, retention, networking programs, and the annual Business Expo. Committee Chairpersons were also recognized for their leadership and dedication to Chamber and Youth Enrichment Fund initiatives.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the 2026 Volunteer of the Year Award. This year's recipient, Nico Shubin of Serv-Wel Disposal & Recycling, was recognized for his outstanding commitment to the Chamber and the community. Through his leadership as Golf Committee Chair, recruitment of new members, sponsorship support, and active participation in Chamber events and civic engagement, Shubin exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and service.
The Chamber also presented its prestigious 2026 President's Award to Raman Venkat of LeFiell Manufacturing Company. Venkat was honored for his extraordinary leadership during a year of organizational transition. As Chamber Treasurer and a member of the executive search committee, Venkat provided valuable guidance, financial oversight, and unwavering support that helped position the Chamber for continued success.
Outgoing Chamber Board Directors Lisa Boyajian, Trese Childs, Carlos Gallardo, and Sharon Wu were
recognized for their contributions and leadership. The ceremony then continued with the installation of the 2026-2027 Chamber Board Officers and Directors.
Installed officers included Nico Shubin, Brendan Rowe, Kris Lewis, Lina Ariza, and Raman Venkat. New and returning Board Directors were also officially installed and pledged their commitment to serving the business community and advancing the Chamber's mission.
The Santa Fe Springs Chamber/League Youth Enrichment Fund Board of Directors were also sworn in for the upcoming fiscal year, reaffirming the organization's commitment to supporting educational opportunities and workforce development initiatives for local students. The Chamber thanked outgoing Presidents Daniel McMillan and Joanne Klemm for their year of service and commitment to enriching opportunities for local students.
Santa Fe Springs Council Member John Mora administered the oath of office to incoming Chamber President Scott Summerfield and incoming Youth Enrichment Fund President Kris Lewis, officially installing them for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Both leaders accepted the responsibility of guiding their respective organizations and advancing their missions in service to the community.
In their remarks, Summerfield and Lewis expressed gratitude to their families, fellow board members, volunteers, and community partners while sharing their enthusiasm for the year ahead.
The Santa Fe Springs Chamber concluded the evening by thanking the City of Santa Fe Springs for its continued partnership and support, as well as the many members, sponsors, volunteers, and community leaders whose dedication helps create a thriving business environment.
As the Chamber enters its next chapter, the organization remains focused on advocacy, business growth, workforce development, and strengthening connections throughout the Santa Fe Springs community.
